Installing Leopard on my Mac Mini with fingers crossed. Not a production machine so not particularly concerned, just anxious.

Leopard being a bad kitty. Mac Mini bricked. Back to the drawing board.

The worst of the Leopard installation woes I've read thus far may leave the machine unbootable but not unmountable, so your data should be recoverable.

It was a test machine, completely reformatted from scratch, so data loss not an issue. Digging deeper.

Mac Mini now running Leopard, seems quicker than 10.4. Testing application compatibility.

Glad to hear. What was your problem? I'm curious, because my wife's Mac Mini (ppc) is the next system scheduled in my own upgrade list.

Mine is PPC as well. Not sure what happened. Screen was coming on but dark grey. After a few forced restarts didn't help, I had it boot into the second partition on the HD (running 10.4.10 Server). I restarted and booted into Panther client and it started fine. I do recall that it booted fine after I first installed Leopard yesterday, then I immediately ran software update, rebooted after that and that't when it failed to boot. Been running fine since. Planning to image my MacBookPro internal drive tonight then upgrade. A friend suggests archive and install new as opposed to update as an option.
